Hello

for a few months I have been having bone pain in my femur that has gotton worse and worse. When I first noticed it I thought nothing of it as it was only a mild throbbing. Now about 4 months later I get the pain every day and it is far worse. Not I get the bone pain from my hip to my knee (but still mostly in the femur)
The pain is worse at night and when I am resting. Its getting so bad that I cant stand it.

I havn't done anything to injure myself either.
Around the hip area feels tender to touch like there is a bruise/ although there is none. I also walk with a limp although I have no idea how I got it.

I am a female teenager and am of average height and weight.

I have quite a long medical history of gastric reflux/ appendicitis/ abominal pains/ fecal loading. although I doubt any of these is causing my pain.

I have told my mum about it and she still hasnt taken me to a doctor.??

Please help the throbbing is getting worse and worse and I cant stand it.
Does anyone know what this could be>?
Or has anyone experienced these symptoms?

Thanks heaps and please reply if you can help!

  • Get to a doctor and get an Ultrasound to rule out a blood clot. Please do this asap. Tell your mom and make the appointment. Are you on birth control pills by chance? Please just visit your doctor and explain EXACTLY where you are feeling your pain. An MRI might also be in order. Don't put this off, please! Best wishesDOM

  • isabellaxx you need to see a doctor try to persuade your mum again. By the sounds of it you have had a quite a few medical problems for some stupid reason people can begin to get the idea that you are exagerating your pain try your best to reason with them good luck.

  • get a chiropractor or doctor to check your hip joint at your back. see if both sides are even. my daughter had unexplained pain in legs so much she would wake up crying as a baby til she was 12. docs couldnt figure it out . I was talking to a chiropractor about her , and he took a two minute look and found it right away. ( she walks with a limp too,her one leg was slightly shorter than the other ( we didnt know this before that), and her hip was out of alignment. every time the chiropractor popped it to being even, it gave her relief until it popped out of place again.

  • check to make sure you dont have restless leg syndrom. This will often happen in the early stages, along with almost a charlie horse feeling where you cant extend the leg.

  • I myself am having bone pains but it's all over. It's like stabbing like pain and it usually goes from my toes to my arms then legs...it's just crazy and mine also hurts the worst at night when I am resting. I've also had just about the same problems...abdominal pain, gas..., etc. The doctors checked my blood a few times and they have nothing. They told me it I am very likely to get Leukemia sometime in my life because my father had it and it's genetic. My dad told me when he was around my age he too had bone pain and well about 20 years later he got Leukemia. So...yeah.

  • In response to the bruising, I’ve been using this stuff on my kids for a while that’s been working great. They both play soccer so they get cuts and bruises on their legs often, not to mention they’re just generally rough when they play. I was reffered to this stuff called bruiseMD (you can find it through google) by another mother at school. The ingredients are all natural and it works quickly so it’s a great bruise remedy. Hope that helps!

  • Throbbing leg pain that is worse at night is indicative of bone cancer which must be ruled out. Get a x-ray of the leg ASAP.

  • hi, I am 17 and am currently suffering from a similar situation to you. I am getting severe bone bain all over my body and it is getting worse. It tends to hurt more when I'm resting but it is starting to affect my day to day life especially as I have other medical conditions to contend with. I haven't seen my doctor about it as I have told my mum but she just answers that they wouldn't do anything. I don't know what to do, if anyone has any advice please let me know. x

HiI also suffer from bonepain, but I have Multiple Myeloma Cancer, Please go and get checked out, this cancer is very tricky and cannot be detected until something happens like me I had a heartattack, other people get broken bones. Go get tested, it's a bloodtest. My pain is so bad I don't wan't to live anymore and deal with it every day.

Thanks heaps and please reply if you can help!Bone pain is gnawing and throbbing. If you suffer from this, you may need long-term pain treatment. Bone pain may be treated with hormonal therapy or with bisphosphonates, such as alendronate (Fosamax), which strengthen the bones. Often, the NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen) are used. Sometimes opioids are needed.
