Hi. Last week I was practicing basketball and guarding someone when my foot skipped on the floor and I totally rolled over it. It was incredibly painful at first and it made a very loud crack/pop/crunch sound that my coach could hear across the court. My trainer said it was just a sprain and I should be fine because it didn't hurt that badly to put weight on it and it wasn't that swollen. However I had taken 3 ibuprofen before practice. The next day it swelled up like a balloon and was incredibly discolored. My trainer still told me it was a sprain. I thought so too. It felt and still feels fine to put a little weight on it with some slight discomfort. But it is incredibly sensitive to rotate and roll. It also is very tender to the touch right around the ankle bone especially above it. Like the slightest touch hurts it and even wearing socks is uncomfortable. I just want to know if I might have a chip or a fracture in my ankle. I'm pretty sure the pain is not from swelling because it has gone down except for the ankle bone and I ice regularly and daily use one of those ice whirlpool baths. I am a 17 year old male and have a trend ncy to get injured having two season ending injuries in two years.
