I went in last week as it wasn't getting better...not worse...just not better. 3 Xrays later, it shows I broke it in 3 places. I have been buddy taping it every day and wearing a rigid sole boot everyday. Even before I had the xrays..just not the taping of it though. How long will it take before I can put pressure on it and wear a regular shoe again? Its still not the same size as my other big toe. The bruising seems to be nearly all gone except there are some sore spots still on top of my foot.
And when I take the boot off to shower at night, I stand on my feet and there is something not right with my toe. On the underside, where its padded under the big toe, when I try to put a little pressure on it by taking a step or it bending with a step...It feels like there is something under the skin on the inside..there is a shock feel or tingling feel like if you ever touched your tongue to the tip of a small battery(I did it as a kid on a dare). I'm 38 now. I'm a mom of 3 and homemaker..so I'm not just sitting around all day. Can't. But this "feeling" it has really has me concerned as I want to be able to apply for jobs around here and I'm going back to school next year for nursing..and I NEED my foot!!! Is this a typical symptom of a broken toe?? Will it go away? Or is there another underlying problem with it that I need to have checked out?? I just went to my family doctor, not a specialist since theres not much they can do for it. But I don't want there to be nerve damage or whatever. I just figured after 3 weeks, I'd be able to at least walk half normal on it. I have to ***k my foot to the outer side when I walk and keep it off the floor, otherwise, the "shock/tingle" catches me off guard and is the worst feeling...I can't walk like that! Anyone????
