Hi all, great forum you have here.

I woke up about one morning 4 weeks ago with wrist drop on my left side. I visited the accident and emergency at around 6pm that day (gave it time to go away..) and was diagnosed with radial nerve palsy in my left arm. My left wrist was splinted and I was told it would go away over time.

My left wrist was still very weak but upward movement was returning slightly when I woke up, about 2 weeks later, with the exact same symptoms on my right.

I visited accident and emergency after work, on the advice of my GP and I had my right wrist splinted.

That was a week ago but my left wrist is still very weak, my right has no wrist lift at all but my upper arm muscles are sore (both arms), my forearm muscles numb (again, both arms).

All 4 blood tests came back normal but I am having some electrical tests performed on my arms this weekend.

I am a healthy 35 year old male with no previous serious medical problems.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

  • I know it has been a long time since your post but I am hoping you can tell me what happened with your situation. I have a friend going through the same thing. She lost function of one wrist about 8-9 months ago and is now losing the second. Did you get a diagnosis?
