Ankylosing Spondylitis?

Long story-short. 6 1/2 years ago while I was 5 months pregnant with the youngest I got severe back pain. Sudden onset. :( Since then I have seen in the upwards of 12 doctors from ortho, internal med, and rheumatology. My rheumatologist diagnosed me with Ankylosing spondylitis...this has been dx and undx 4 times. I saw a specialist in Chicago said nop its Fibromylagia...(didn't check me out physically or anything. I have severe fatigue, chronic knee and foot pain, and ocassional SI joint pain. Any other ideas on what this could be? It's been
6 1/2 yrs.:confused:

It's been 6 1/2 yrs.:confused:I was recently diagnosed with Ankylosine Spondylitis after 2 years of medical testing and suffering.The disease now seems to be in my rib cage and is causing costrochondritis and trouble breathing .This has thus far been my worst symptom as i have had it thus far for 15 months.I will be going to physical therapy shorting and was prescribed flextor patches to be put on my sternum every 12 hours.I dont take nsaids as i have a very sensitive stomach.Ask your Doc for a mri of your SI joints and to do a gentic marker test for HBLA27 .If these come back postive you most definitly have ankylosine spondylitis...

  • I am a physical therapist. There are some consistencies with your symptoms and AK but this disease much more common in men than in women. It is also not common to have feet and knee pain.
