I fully ruptured my Achilles tendon in Jan. 2008. I had surgery 1/22, but the dr couldn't fix it. He said the tendon retracted farther up in the leg than what he could fix & referred me to another dr. Was planning to have 2nd surgery, but due to waiting for a skin wound (from 1st surgery) to heal, which took a while, the 2nd surgery was postponed 4 times. Then, my dr said a surgery is no longer recommended & I should start walking. I haven't started physical therapy (PT) yet, but plan to.
I'd especially like to hear from those of you who've ruptured your Achilles who DID NOT have surgery & know how your progress & recovery are going.
