My 8 yr old son has been tested and seen by so many doctors for muscle pain. He started with left arm and leg. It slowly spread to all large muscles in the body. Has trouble being comfortable and can no longer keep up with peers. He was thought to have a muscular dystrophy- all tests came back neg. He has had MRI's of brain, spine, hips and thighs. Has had 2 EMG's. We have gone to neuro-muscle dr's., rheumatologists and geneticists to name a few. He now has brite flashing lights in his eyes and has had 2 black outs. Could anyone suggest something that we are missing to help my son? Thank you.

  • Is your son very flexible. Have either your son, you or his father been told you are double jointed. If you answer yes. Google hypermobility syndrome. It is a condition that is often misdiagnosed. Many children with the condition are told they have growing pains and will grow out of it - this never happens. My own symptoms started around the age of 9 with muscle pain and fatigue.
