about 5 weeks ago I had acl surgery on my right knee from a skiing hyperextension in the terrain park, three weeks later while rehabing my knee by riding my bike I was hit by a car. I flew into the air and landed on my shoulder and head (thank god for helmets). I went to the ER and showed them how my right clavicle was popping up. X-rays show a sprain. I go to an ortho and he thinks its a fractured growth plate, but I am 21, and I have learned that women usually fuse by the age of 18.
Week after accident: bruise on the back of shoulder, located just below the ending point of the clavicle. Very unstable, clavicle would move when pressure was applied. When laying on left side, clavicle would feel awkward against skin, pushing it up. Not a lot of pain. Full ROM with clicking noises. Swelling.
2nd week: Shoulder becomes more stable. Clavicle begins to feel stable, does not move with pressure. Bruise still remains. Still somewhat swollen, clavicle bump begins to subside.
3rd week: a harsh aching pain begins. Shoulder feels heavy. Clicking is seldom. Use of right arm without figure 8 becomes has harsh ache. Pain is felt on the top of the shoulder. Right shoulder feels lower but might be in my head.
I can't find anything of growth plate fractures in people my age. I have no idea what it is but I want to get better. any advice or knowledge on the subject?
