  • Hi heidi,I had a similar crossroads in 2004 after 6 months of decline. One doctor was convinced I had ADE, while another diagnosed MS and recommended I start interferon treatment. There were three factors that led me to continue treatment (to this day):1. I found statistics that indicated that up to 85% of patients that present with MS-like symptoms go on to develop further symptoms.2. The function already lost will never be regained, but treatment is meant to keep from losing more functions.3. Studies found that interferons help improve concentration in people with MS, which was one of my most debilitating symptoms. While this may not seem convincing, it was enough to get me on treatment. Hope that helps.
