Hi all just looking for a bit of advice. I am 32 years old and have been having very weird things happening to me over last 2 years. I am getting nowhere with my neurologist at all. He basically thinks this is all in my head. My story starts with loss of strenght in my left arm and left leg, pins and needles, very poor balance, tingling sensations all over my body at different stages over last 2 years, tiredness, slurred speech at times and mixing my words up also. I am always dropping stuff and tripping over. I also have a burning sensation in my feet and sharp pain in my feet at times. Had MRI done originally which showed 11 plagues on my brain as was told had possible MS but spinal tap came back clear as did all other tests. I have to mention to that i have had 2 bad attacks which were both treated with IV steroids and there was a definite improvement. However the improvement doesnt seem to last for more than a few months and it is only improvement all symptoms do not go away. Now am being told it is ME or psychosomatic illness even though I went to see the pychiatrist on 2 occasions as requested by neurologist and he gave me the all clear and said in his view is not psychiatric. I feel like a hypochondriac at this stage and just want to get better. What do I do from here. I am so confused. Any advice accepted please help me.

  • My wife had (has) the exact same symptom everyone. She was Dxed back in 2000 with MS. Her conditons now have all leveled off but for the first two years it was like a roller coaster. Dont know if yours will be like that everyone is different. Go to another Nuero one that specilizes in MS. My wife never had a spinal just MRI w/wo contrast of her brain. Nuero looked once and with the symptoms she had Dxed her with MS. With the meds shes on she is doing ok. GET SECOND OPINION.Dont let some tire old quack tell you it's in your head cause he don't want to deal with you

  • I had most of those symptoms and more, peripheral neuropathy, balance problems, CFS, significant eye problems, muscle wasting, numbness in extremeties, etc. I got tested, found I was mercury toxic, replaced amalams and did detox, and all of those are better now.
