I have been trying to figure out what is wrong with me for over a year. I have many of the symptoms of MS but never thought of it until I had an MRI with and without contrast to check and see if I had cushings disease. This is the radiologists summery report that was sent to my Dr. but I have not talked with her yet. Any advise?
IMPRESSION:
1. Pituitary protocol brain MRI without findings of definite
pituitary microadenoma.
2. Minimal nonspecific white matter signal change at the
bilateral frontal subcortical white matter. Differential
diagnosis includes sequela of migraine headaches, cerebral
vasculitis, infectious/inflammatory entities, age advanced
chronic microvascular ischemic change and demyelinating disease
such as multiple sclerosis, without characteristic MS pattern
demonstrated, for which clinical correlation is recommended.
3. Minor chronic appearing paranasal sinus disease.

  • INTERPRETATION:1. Your MRI was supposed to look at the Pituitary gland, but there are no definite findings that indicate pituitary-based Cushing's Disease.2. There's a bit of damage to the insulation of your brain nerves. Related diagnoses include the results of some migraine headaches, the inflammation of blood vessels serving the brain, infectious/inflammatory entities, age, chronic advanced changes to brain capillaries leading to less oxygen getting to the brain, and nerve insulation-damaging diseases like multiple sclerosis, (though this scan does not show typical patterns that MS typically does--so MS is unlikely unless there are more stereotypical MS symptoms to assess physically).3. Minor chronic sinus disease. As someone with MS, I wish you luck! there are worse things, though I can think of better as well.
