Do I have symptoms of MS

Hello everyone,

I was recently admitted to the emergency room with stroke like symptoms. It started with an extreme burning pain down my left arm. Two days later, I felt tension on the left side of my face and neck. The emergency room doctor mentioned Bells Palsy, however the tension in my face moved to the back of my neck. While in the hospital I experienced spasms on both sides of my face and neck. My blood pressure ruled out the possibility of a stroke. The emergency room doctor said my condition could be stress related. He did refer me to a neurologist. I have been home for two days and have been experiencing muscle spasms in my upper back. I have also experienced uncontrollable twitching in my toe and my jaw. While in the hospital I had a cat scan, MRI, and chest x-ray, all of which were normal. Are these symptoms characteristic of MS.

Please Help,

  • :) Sorry I can't say for sure whether it is MS but they symptoms of MS, but there are many other things that can cause those symptoms as well. I am currently awaiting conformation, I have a pending diagnosis of MS the doctors are awaiting my next attack to do a spinal tap (the fun just keeps on coming!). My onset symptoms made me looking like a raging drunk! I could not walk straight, slurred my words, talked jibberish, slow to respond, the I got a strange pulsing/rushing sensation in my head, my heart raced, my breathing accelerated, my muscles all began to twitch and once that stopped it left my completely paralysed. The doctors also thought I had a stroke and once everything came back normal they too, stated stress must be the cause. I too was referred to a neurologist but due to the tests being normal and the hospital stating it must be "stress" I got the run around, which I fear you may also experience, so I paddled of to my doctor and got a referral to a shrink to get the all clear from him so the rest had to take me seriously, I have only seen him once and I have to go back on Friday but the doctors have already changed their attitude since I made the appointment, making them aware that I have and why. If you ever would like to chat about this or anything else feel free to contact me http://www.myspace.com/158696777. Wishing you good health and happiness!
