I have read through the postings that have to do with mouth symtoms, and none of them apply to my situation. I have red swollen gums after associating with a person who has the same problem.
I don't have bad teeth, cavities or sores in my mouth, I beleive what I have is contagious and now I also have swollen glands in my throat, (tonsils do not appear swollen) My teeth ache but they are otherwise healthy.
The person who I beleive I have contracted something from claims he has always had red gums, and is of no help.
I have tried antibiotics : zithromax and minocycline and amoxociline with little change.
I have no ins. and going to dr after dr gets old and expensive.
If anyone has any ideas it would greatly be appreciated

  • Hi,If your gums bleed often with or without applying pressure, you should see your dentist immediately. Frequent bleeding of gums during brushing indicates a gum disease.

  • I hope I can help you. If your gums bleed then you poss have gingivitis. People should have their teeth cleaned 2 times a yr by a dental hygienist. I do understand you don't have ins.As you get older your gums get worse. If you take your floss and place it inbetween your teeth, as i tell patients you need to clean the walls of your teeth and go just below the gum line with the floss up and down motion, just remember your cleaning the walls of your teeth inbetween them if your gums bleed while doing this it is a sign of ginigivtis. warm salt water swooshes is good for your gums. It's nothing you get from anyone. Any gum problems is all about you.The gums are your fondation of your mouth/teeth if they are not in good shape it will get worse. Even though your teeth are in great shape your gums could be unhealthy I see this all the time in my office. I really suggest a hygiene visit if you can't then make sure you floss atleast twice a day with warm salt water swooshes along with mouth wash swooshes.healthy gums don't bleed while flossing and brushing your teeth. Also people who smoke can have very unhealthy gums. I didn't know if you even smoked but thought i would add that
