  • Funny, I was just reading about this, because I have the same symptoms. I usually get the burning of the tongue, and the metallic taste in my mouth when I eat spicy junk food. And this time, it's really bad! It's called "Burning Mouth Syndrome" (honest!!) Don't let it stress you out so much, that will probably make it worse. Get yourself a popsicle or an ice cube (or even just cold water to sip) and read these 2 articles I found. There's a lot of info on the web about it, but, unfortunately, not enough help. But, just calm down & pretty soon it won't seem as bad. Stay away from things like spicy food, hot liquids, strong mouthwashes-anything that will aggravate a sensitive tongue. Good luck, take some deep breaths & relax. You'll be ok. Then find a dr or dentist, & .show him the info you found. There are liquid pain meds you can use if it gets that bad.
