Things Talking to Me

Ever Since I was very young I have always heard voices of objects around me. Like they are talking to me. This happens constantly. Like for example, A teddy bear will start "Talking" to me. These objects are usually very sad or depressed and they talk as though confiding in me. obviously I know that objects can not "Speak" to you, for they are not alive and these "voices" are somewhat of my own making up but its like a tic and it happens. Like an imaginary friend that I can not stop creating in my mind. I often find myself apoligizing to these Objects for some reason.
Does ANYONE know what this is or has had similar experiences?

  • It doesn't sound like you have any serious mental health problems. Believe it or not there are many menatlly healthy individuals who hear voices that do not interfere with their every day functioning. You might just have an overractive imagination and these flights of fancy might just be a psychological coping mechanism that kills boredome and makes you feel needed by things such as the "depressed" teddy bear that occasionally "talks to you." Maybe you have a subconcious need to help people and animals in need. You could try to find a real outlet for this. Do you sometimes feel better or perhaps inspired after "talking" to said objects? I think that your imagination definately serves a purpose and does not just make you unhappy or unable to function. Maybe it even HELPS you function. Does any of this make sense for you?

  • Have you talked to a Doctor about this cause this could be serious.Could I have a bit more information about you such as age and other medical problems, drug use (prescription/reccreational), did you have any trammatic expeariences as a childwhat do the voices sound like; do they sound like an echo or clear? Do the voices just talk to you do they ever instruct you to do something?do you talk to the voice and it responds to you live a conversation? You say that for instance the voices come from a teddy bear; do you see the mouth move or any kind of movement from the bear, do you ever hear the voices come from something else?1.)Some theories for these voices lie with ghosts of other spirits. It is thought that dead family members or friends may come back to guide the living through tough situations or other endeavors. This theory is a more “normal” explanation. It is paranormal, but it’s discussed more freely in general society, as many have had such experiences once or twice. Also, many do believe in ghosts.2.)most people that go to see a doctor regarding a problem such as yours is usually later diagnosed with schizophrenia3.)psychotic/psychotic depression 4.)Psychosis5.)Hallucinationsgive me the information that i requested and then i might have a better idea of what could be going on. also how do you feel when you are hearing these voices and is this an everyday thing or a once and a while thingthanks

  • Hey. It's me again. I'm actually worried that you are prone to reading into the workings of your imagination. By that I mean that you should not keep telling yourself that you are ill. That is just a vicious downward spiral if you ask me. The fear of going crazy can become so strong that it makes you unable to function. You are NOT crazy and I am not a doctor and thank God that I am NOT a doctor because most if not all doctors would put you on some kind of a heavy medication that would turn you into a drooling vegetable. Believe me, I've been there! Maybe I exaggerate A LITTLE but I must say that the kind of drug they might put you on could ruin your life! It could turn your brain and your personality into mush. Keep your soul and stay alive! Doctors do not tell the truth. They make mountains out of mole hills just so that you keep comming back and giving them your money. I am the Anti-Doctor! lol. Please listen to me. I know that "hearing things talk to you" is not very common and conjurs up visions of lunatics and supernatural occurances but if you think you are impaired now it is nothing compared to the level of impaiment that will be inflicted upon you if you step inside a psyche ward. The imagination is a wild thing that can be harnessed. Famous musicians would actually hear symphonies in their heads and simply write down the music. Sometimes the songs would come to them in a dream. Artists "see things" all of the time and musicians "hear things." The imagination is a wonderous thing! Consider yourself lucky to be so gifted. Yes, I realize it could also be more of a burden sometimes but maybe you should try to create something. Close your eyes and try to visualize something new and amazing whether it be art, writing, or anything you can think of. Then try to create it or maybe go to a creator and tell them about your vision and have them do the physical work. You could also express your creativity when you adress people who need to be counselled- as I mentioned in my previous post- then you verified the fact that you would like helping people in need. What most doctors and concelors lack is an IMAGINATION. You may have the ability to see all sides of a situation or to make leaps of faith unlike other people who go by the book. When you have finally harnassed your imagination then maybe you should help other people with similar experiences do the exact same thing! For me, it may be too late because I was put on a heavy medication when I was a teenager and I have never been the same! I used to have an extremely powerfull imagination. I would have made a very good movie director. I listened to music in my head all of the time- my mind was like an mp3 player that never needed charging! I hope that you can see beyond what is considered normal and stop comparing yourself to everyone else. Please respond to this asap and I would like to hear more from you in the future to see how it's all turning out if and when you follow my advice. I have good instinct.
