Does anyone out there have PTSD? I'm pretty much out of it now, and am only 14, but would like to see other people's opinions on it.

  • I have PTSD. I got it due to a violent life. From my early childhood up to around age 30, I either witnessed or became a victim of horrible things. Pedophiles in the beginning, sociopaths and organized criminals later as I got older. They had nearly destroyed my mind. How I treat myself, I will talk about it either to myself or to others. When I do talk about it trench warfare symptoms will appear (dizzyness, vertigo). When it becomes too uncomfortable I'll then stop and switch to talking about something good. Otherwords I'll get it off my mind. In time PTSD will go away, but the memories will not. For example, there are those who had fought in a war decades ago. They get over their PTSD and are normal folks until they start talking about it again and then their PTSD will come out of hibernation. If you do have PTSD you must talk about it. A little at a time is fine. But afterwards forget about it and get on with your life.
