I am posting this because I have no idea what to really call or how to begin in a diagnosis of my father and whatever is going on with him.
My mother told me he has severe ADHD but has never been tested nor is he taking medication. Dad also has no short term memory. He asks the same questions over and over and over, never remembering the answer because, we guess, he is thinking about something else.
I think he gets mad that he can't remember things and so he gets really angry and some of the temper tantrums he's had of late include kicking me out of the house for no provoked reason.
He also uses really odd terms to describe everyday objects, like calling headphones "ears" or referring to a mirror as "that shiny thing in the bathroom you look at yourself in."
I am really worried about him and have no idea where to begin research. Is this some really horrible form of ADHD or does it have more to do with the brain? My aunt, his sister, was just diagnosed with brain cancer and this terrifies me. If anyone can give me a starting point, that would be great. I love my father but I fear I am losing him.
