3 months ago i was eating at a deli and out of nowhere i had a sharp pain in my head. i then had a warm flush go up my spine to my head and then i felt like i was going to pass out. i brushed it off at first but then it kept happening so my buddies took me to the hospital. i had to keep my head tilted back so when the flush would come i felt less likely to pass out. i was later diagnosed with panic attacks and anxiety disorder. i never had these conditions until then. it does run in my family though. i have regular panic attack symptoms now but not like the first time. the doctors didnt know what it was and wasnt even sure at first if i was suffering from panic attacks.

what im wandering is that first time when i had the flush to my head a possible panic attack symptom. i cant find it anywhere on the internet. i cant find anything related to that. also after the situation i have had this ear popping problem and pressure in the right side of my head. my right ear drum has also recessed a bit. i have an appointment to find out if i just have pressure built up from the recessed ear drum. but not knowing what my first attack is, is beating me up. ive been checked for annurisms and bleeding in the brain and im showing up clean. im at a loss, please help.

  • Hello, Panic disorder is a horrible and frightening condition. I know as I have suffered with this stuff for 10 yrs. My first attack happened while driving home after having coffee with a friend. I was sitting at a light in rush hour traffic when I suddenly felt I couldn't breathe, my heart pounding and a feeling like I was going to faint. I was 5 miles from home and thought I'd never make it. Remembering there was a hospital 3 blocks down the street, I made it there and was told it was a panic attack. At that time my life was a mess. Was having problems in my marriage, my daughter was pregnant and not married and moved in with her boy friend and I had a huge fight with my mom. If you think back to your first attack, were you going through a very stressful time? Also, anxiety is hereditary as my mom suffered with it too. If you've had tests to rule out anything serious going on in your brain, then that is wonderful. I would suggest you ask your doctor for some medication. I take Klonopin and it helps a lot but does make me drowsy. Also, this past week I started counseling as its the only thing I haven't tried. I think it is going to help a lot as I have so many issues to work on. Hubby, who had an affair, mom who never loved me, kids who have no respect. Life is such a challenge. I hope you can get a handle on your anxiety. Don't give up, you're not alone. We live in a society that is so stressful, especially since 9/11. Hang in there and God bless :) Freckles

  • I know this might be odd and "unscientific" but what you described seems to be very similar to what is known as kundalini-arousal. It is out-on-the-fringes stuff for science but some doctors nonetheless know about it.* Burning hot or ice cold streams moving up the spine. * Perhaps a feeling of air bubbles or snake movement up through the body. For more see http://www.kundalini.se/eng/engkni_1024.htmlhttp://www.intuition.org/txt/sannella.htm (a MD who I think has a clinic dealing with this)you can find more about on google.
