  • Addiction to the endorphins released when cutting?? I guess you've tried all the normal distraction techniques trying to get rid of the urge eg placing rubber band on arm and pinging it hard. (I can be a cutter myself when im under a lot of stress.. rubber band thing doesnt work for me). If Im needing/craving bad an endorphin rush or just want to calm myself.. rather then cut, Ive at times turned to whipping myself (less harmful as long as you arent doing it in dangerous places eg dont do it over bones such as spine or over organs) or getting someone else to whip or flog me. (this can be a far safer option if the other knows what they are doing.. you can get a great endorphin rush). umm not sure if I should be recommending that to you but it is a safer thing then cutting, if you are to that point where you are going to do something. (or scratching eg one can scratch with a STERILE needle..is far better then cutting with a knife in which there is always a risk one could go too deep). If you havent had any for this issue already.. I strongly suggest you have some therapy (thou in my own case it hasnt helped, I know it does help many who have this issue)........ Feeling like bugs over your body could be a side effect of one of your medicines.

  • There's a therapy which often helps ones who have borderline personality disorder in which cutting and self injury is often involved in that.. called DBT. DBT helps one learn to deal with emotional stuff and feelings better and will give one a lot of different ideas to try to take away the need to cut. I suggest you try to find a therapist who does DBT (its more the type of therapy better for cutters as it works a lot on stress release stuff too then the normal Cognitive behavourial therapy (CBT) psychotherapy). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dialectical_behavior_therapy
