I was diagnosed with social anxiety disorder when I was in high school. I have a problem with this diagnosis. I can talk to just about anyone strangers family friends, I am a very social person. I am beginning to wonder if I actually am bipolar.

These are my symptoms:
Restless (I can't sit still sometimes)
Memory and concentration problems(sometimes severe)
a feeling of complete worthlessness
A feeling of utter doom
bursts of creativity as well as insomnia (will stay up for days writing, drawing, and painting)
mild paranoia (a feeling of being watched or followed or accusing people of doing things they arent)
Tics (rubbing my eye/face/head)

I am sure I am leaving something out.
does anyone have any ideas?

  • You have many symptoms of depression and mania which might constitute a diagnosis of bipolar I. You should seek out a new psychologist or psychatrist and get reevaluated as soon as possible. You are right that your symptoms do not fit social anxiety.
