My boyfriend has been depressed for a while. He has been telling me it was way before he met me. We have been going ou:cool:t 4 almost 4 months now and about 2 or3 weeks ago he wrote a disturbing post on face book. When he wrote it I flipped out and one of his sgts. From our JROTC programs called him and my boyfriend was telling him how he tried more than once to hurt himself. He said that he would play with the gun and think about shooting himself and stuff but he just couldnt . But after that little talk he went to get help and 2 day he got back from the shrink and he had told me that he has 2 do a complete personality change. But I told him "i don't think u need to change ur personality, I think u need to change ur attitude and perception of things. From past experences changing ur personality, who u r, does more harm than good. Changing ur attitude benefits ur self esteem and the aura around u which affects everyone else." That's my opinion. And he has been stressed all year because of his grades, him graduating, choosing theright branch in the military. And at home his mom is always wasted, she cuts down his job choices because he wants to be enlisted instead of being an officer, plus she is prejiduce. My boyfriend is white, I black, and its kind of hard to get along with her. Plus his dad died when he was 8 and I think those feelings r starting up again. I have been helping him out in school and everything. He is a senior, I a junior, and he basicly lives at my house because he doesn't like 2 go home He tells me every day I am the best thing that has ever happened to him. But I'm worried about him changing the parts of him that I love like how we can pick on eachother, how comforting he is, how calm he is 2 others, how he makes me laugh at all the dumb things he says and does, his annoyingness which just makes our relationship real. Aso how care free we r with each other, the sense of comfort we have when we rwit each other. I don't want him 2 lose his personality just maybe his attitude becase he is always downing himself and he thinks of himself so low its hard 2 boost his morals. What should I do?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
