I have been hearing voices for four years now, i am taking risperdal and it does not stop me from hearing them. I have no other symptoms of schizophrenia and find the voices very frustrating because i know who the people are that I hear and i know how they do it. My psychiatric wants me to take Clozaril but i refuse to because as i said i have no other symptoms and i am afraid of the weight gain this drug causes. The way i look at it is if these people didn't exist i would not need any medication. They are constantly interfering with thinking process and they are not in my head, the are outside it. I want someone's opinion of what i should do about hearing these people. Also, I do not like taking psychiatric medicine because i have read that these medicines stop you connecting with higher worlds and make it hard for you to experience your inner consciousness. I am reading a book which teaches you how to open your third eye which i believe is the real solution to these voices but psychiatric medicine also negates this whole process of seeing inside, which as i already said is the real solution to not hearing them anymore.

Anyone any suggestions,

thanks.

  • Bottom line is if you don't want to be drugged there is no reason you should take any drugs. There is a long established history of the scientific community inventing dangerous drugs that are only proven dangerous decades later, when they are ready to market something else. Why are you even seeing a psychiatrist if you want non-drug therapies? Of course a psychiatrist is going to approach everything from the drug angle, it is their particular field of specialty. If you plan on treating yourself naturally, then do so, don't go half in and half out flirting with the experts and institutions, unless you want them to determine your fate and not you.

  • I agree with Non Servium but my experience with taking away meds is to do it verrrry slowly. It can produce a lot of unwanted side-effects if you cut it off too quickly. I cut out my Psychiatrist by telling him that I wanted to seek treatment elsewhere. I was looking into a Holistic Doc & hypnotherapist but I also asked him to keep himself open if I ever needed his services again. I also have seen people say to their Docs that they don't want their meds & won't take them, then they get committed to the Psych ward so please be careful. You don't want your rights taken away when you haven't done anything wrong!

  • speaking of not taking drugs... did you know that "hearing voices" can come from a sleep issue, such as: losing sleep, getting sleep interrupted--if you've had either of these for awhile, you get what's called a "sleep debt", where the accumulation of sleep deprivation builds up & can cause that sort of symptom. you may want to look at if you have any sleep issue going on. if you find you do, here's a good website for "sleep education": http://sleepinformationfacts.ebloggy.com

  • My brother has been hearing voices for a couple years now. It is usually at night and he has started pulling his hair out. Just last night he has an "episode" and was going around the house acting like he was fighting with someone. He turns the light on and off in his room looking for whoever is in there. He went to a cemetary yesterday and found the mother of the person whos voice he is hearing. He has said that the person is telling him to do something quickly and he is scared. What can we do to help? We have all asked him to go see someone but he is afraid. We feel he is a danger to himself and others but are reluctant to call the authorities because of the trauma it might cause him.

  • Stop taking Risperidal. I only took it for a month and had to quit. It made me feel like a zombie, like I was watching myself in a movie but not really living. It made me feel even more insane! Try taking different meds and take care of your sleep schedule.xoxC

  • Have you tried praying? asking the Lord to take away these voices or spirits? The Lord wants you to depend and lean on Him. I recommend going to church and praying and seeking the Lord. Only God can get rid of these voices without the need for medication.....I will be praying for you........

  • I agree with the above post! Prayer works!I KNOW that God answers prayer b/c he has for me. And YES he wants you to lean on him !:) God already knows what we need but wants us to ask for help, just like you would an earthly Father or Mother. This is a promise from God, "Ask and Ye shall receive". Pleasepray and ask for his help and I will also pray for you!Hugs Shirley

  • I had this problem since I was small - in my family there are other cases as well. All religious, all praying, and it didn't help, because the whole thing is merely a next stage in our development. For example, God won't spare you puberty just because you pray to remain small. Remember your first date? Not easy. But we have to learn to deal with it and even enjoy it.The "higher worlds" also have their own "lower worlds", and this is what we discover first. In our world we can still be separate, we can avoid going to the wrong side of town. In the "spook world" we can do the same thing only by tuning to a higher frequency, which is actually done by understanding just a bit higher culture and psychology. Please don't open your third eye before you understand this.In the short term you can go to a psychic, who can sort it out for a while on you behalf. Finding a real one is a problem. Ask for references at the Theosophical Society, health shops etc. Sadly, not many priests know anything about this, but some do and have to work in secret. Ultimately it is up to you, it is your right to make the most of this "puberty" yourself. Anything that we understand better raises our frequency. Relationships, driving a car, learning to use a PC, developing musical taste etc. A small child often hates avocado, olives, marmalade, and will only be scared of a sex scene. All this is part of the spiritual.Much can be done by simple reading. Buy "A Course in Miracles" - most bookstores know it and have it. Read it for its cultural importance. (Just imagine, only one woman came up with this great book.) You will see how it raises your level of thinking. Someone mentioned poetry, and that is just it. I studied theology, so yes I can somewhat appreciate ancient Greek and Hebrew works. But the Bible is not really easy. We all need an easier way, that nevertheless takes us higher.Another way is to memorise a piece of classical music that works for you. Try the Royal Concerts by Francois Couperin, made for Louis the 14th. Whenever I run into bad spook company I play music in my head, and it makes me leave them (by myself), going elsewhere. Probably, those who bother you don't even know they are doing it. Don't believe anything you hear or read. Don't react. Just take notice.Lastly, remember what Lord *****t demonstrated to us: "Love is the only safety." Love is a material substance and even a cognitive skill, very powerful. Whatever comes your way, continue loving, for your own safety.

  • :) ****s died for our sins, that we may be saved.Yes God does answer prayer,I know b/c he's answered my Prayer. If prayer doesn't help you, then you do not believe that it will help. We have to believe first. Anything that you pray about,God will answer but he may not do what you want him to do but he will answer your prayer the way he sees fit b/c he knows the future and we don't! No each part of life we must live but not alone. ****s will be with us though every problem and every heartache we go though. Did you know that God made Angels to help us and protect us from evil? The higher world is Heaven, the lower world is ***l! My higher frequency is ***********t my Lord. When I am troubled I go to Him and he helps me. I don't have a third eye and don't need one b/c that's why ****s died on the cross so that I can be saved. Other wise if we made one mistake,we would go to ***l,but since ****s paid the price for me my sins were forgiven and thrown into the sea of forgetfulness. Even he does not remember them anymore. I do not believe in Psychics b/c only God know the future and NO ONE else.Prayer raises my frequency and gives me peace and love that is not available on this earth, only though God.If a child doesn't like certain foods--then you put them on the table at meal time, with things they like. After a while they will begin to take a taste of the foods they dislike and soon they are eating many different foods. It is never forced! All of these things are a learning process, as we grow older. Just as I would take my children to church and after a while they were listning to what the Minister was saying. You say I should read a book called "A Course in Miracles" well I do ---everytime I read a book called "The Bible". There is many many Miracles in the Bible. The Bible is hard to understand but we pray for God to give us knowledge to understand what was written in it.Demons are around us all the time and God promises that when we believe in him,the demons can't touch us.He has always kept me safe from all harm,b/c I ask him to. He likes us to ask him just like we would our earthly Father.Yes,I believe that LOVE is the greatest gift of all,we must love one another, that is the most important thing we can do on this earth.:) Hugs Shirley

  • Hi! I have read on cases where the person called on ****s and the voices left.In a lot of cases people have been put on cases and they have not worked. What apparently does work is accepting that you are hearing them, but do not delve into that third eye or whatever, you are opening yourself up to a realm you do not want to get into. My honest opinion is ask God to help you out of it, he totally will no jokes. If you don't know him ask Him to show that He is real, and that He wants to help you out.

I completely agree with your statement about this being another stage in our behavioral evolution. It's hard to find advice for something like this as it is, regretfully, so closely referenced to psychotic disorders (psychosis/schizophrenia). I will undoubtedly utilize many of the tips you've mentioned as avenues to attain a higher, more pure consciousness, and I hope many others will do the same. Again, Thank You‼

  • Wow, this forum is something else. You might want to find a psychiatrist that specializes in spiritual attachment. I sounds like your brother may have unkowingly found a friend that he really doesn't want to have. Also, your brother might want to shed some of his bad habits because from what i've read, some earthbound spirits like to hang around people who share a vice similar to what the spirit enjoyed while it was alive.

I woulnt try to talk to people about the situation because they will automatically think your insane, and going to a therapist will only invole in giving you drugs or that you should get more sleep. If possible try to find somebody you trust and who wont judge you.. Good luck.

  • Saw a suggestion on another site to restate what the critical voices are saying, but beginning with "I feel . . .", as the voices are really projections of your own mind and reflect your own thoughts and feelings. Such as "I feel I am worthless." By taking ownership of your own thoughts and feelings in this way, power is taken away from the voices and they are less able to torment you.
