In the material relating to Eating Disorder not Otherwise Specified (ENDOS), I see no mention or discussion relating to fasting for religious purposes, or comparing & distinguishing this to/from ENDOS. Any comments??

  • Truly fasting for religious beliefs is not a disorder, so it should not be listed as such. It is a predetermined act for purposes of religious cleansing, etc. If the act of fasting however seems to fall outside of the religious practice and may be an excuse, than that is not religious fasting... Does the person follow all other related practices pertaining to the religious beliefs?
