Do I have a disorder?

Please help me figure out if this is some form of mental disorder or not, as I've never heard of it or seen anyone else doing so. I have a tendency to scratch and pull/peel off the skin off my lips even though they're not dry or peeling. I do this because it (absurdly, I know) feels good. I have been doing this for more than 10 years as far as I can recall.

I really dont have much self esteem issues. I'm not the prettiest or smartest girl, but I'm happy the way I am, and am actually very confident and friendly. I used to be the complete opposite as a teenager however. Would this have any relevance to my habit? I'm worried that this is not normal, and I've tried to stop but cant seem to. Has anyone heard of any such condition(if that's what it is) or know someone who does the same? Do I sound like a weird person because of this?
Thanks in advance.

  • Peeling of skin, picking of scabs, nail bitting are all symptoms of a form of Obsessive Compulsive disorder. The feeling good part when you do it, could be a different disorder. As EvErCat
