i went to psychiatrist and told him that i am afraid that some i am being harassed or delibrately exposed to stressfull conditions. after a question or two i was put on drug. the whole process took about a minute or little more. i was out of the room with prescription in hand with name of anti-psychotic drug on it. After some time anti-depressent were added too. i used it,and now i am suffering from various side effects of meds. i was not handed over any written remarks of the psychiatrist about my condition nor i was told about the ailment i am suffering from. each time i tried to know the psychiatrist tried to avoid the question. can any body here guess what could be my diagnosis?

  • First of all are you really being harassed and put into stressful situations? If so, you need to address why that is happening. If not, it could indicate some paranoia on your part, which might be the reason the doctor put you on an antipsychotic drug.If he/she won't discuss this with you,it's time to change doctors.:)

  • thankyou Richard. that is exactly i wanted to find out i.e "reality", and unfortunately went straight to psychiatrist, whom i thought was psychologist. Because, i didn't knew the difference between psychiatrist and psychologist. neither i was told by anyone, till i was put on drug. Although i repeated again and again that i want to DISCUSS weather i am just misunderstanding/misreading the situation or i am really been harassed, teased, through remarks/gestures or actions. it takes days even weeks to find out weather someone is stared, stalked, teased, badgered, bullied or ridiculed by someone or not. i want to know how a psychiatrist can find out the reality in a minute or two about the fears expressed without giving proper listening. if it is as simple why we need laws of evidence? is going to the psychiatrist is a conclusive proof that whatever the person says has nothing to do with reality? i think no. what do you think?

  • No,going to a psychiatrist has nothing to do with reality, but the psychiatrist needs to interview you long enough to test your base in reality. They're supposed to do a simple thing called a mental status examination. You didn't answer my question.:)
