Bipolar-- euphoric head rushes?

I'm 20 years old and was diagnosed with bipolar II disorder in 2006 at age 17. I was put on many medications many different times with many different doctors because of me moving. I finally stuck with Lamictal, and was on it for over a year. But when I lost my job (and my insurance) I just stopped visiting my psychiatrist and hence, stopped the meds.

Well I've had insurance with my new job for over a month now (been off Lamictal for 2 months) and I'm debating whether or not I should go back to my doctor. My life is truly exactly the same as when I was on the meds except for this certain symptom. For the past two weeks I've been having these very surreal euphoric head rushes. They were uncomfortable in the beginning but now that I've gotten used to them I can see that sort of deja vu-ish, if that makes sense. Is this common? These tiny episodes can't hurt me, right?

  • I get common head rushes.. they hurt me tho, i dont know that the ***l it is. It's been happening to me for awhile now and i just want to know whats going on with my head. Sometimes i get dizzy to the point i feel nauseous Or sometimes ill just be sitting in a chair and get a head rush. Also, when i walk i get head rushes that make me stumble.. its a little embarrassing. Haha When i get these head rushes sometimes my vision go's blurry, and so far i havent found anything out on the internet.Going to my doctor sounds good right about now, because these head rushes have been happening for awhile ( 8 months or so ) .. Oh by the way i'm 16. maybe my age has something to do with it. :P If anyone knows anything, message back.p.s i know i wants very much help, but maybe you have similar symptoms ?

I asked this same question about a year ago. I found out that they were panic attacks. Talk to your doctor tell them your symptoms like you just wrote here and they will take care of you.

  • livingwithbipolar.. that is very bad, you need to get yourself to doctor ASAP over this. The BP can take a strong hold over you and you will be so not yourself that you may not even realise what is going on. Ive seen someone just out of the blue (it happened real fast and she was fine before that) just suddenly go into a psychotic high due to BP. This happened when in high school. This girl suddenly went into a crazy high due to it (no one had noticed any issues with her before this happened).. picked up a broom and was wizing about in a circle (almost hitting people in the head), while screaming she was flying. She must of been having quite an euphoric head rush at the time. so no.. what you are experiencing right now is not good and you could end up doing something crazy. Get yourself some help, dont delay.
