I have a daughter with so many problems such as cleft palate, hydrocephalus, harsprung, ear problem( grommet inserted). But just now the main problem is the behaviour problem. She is with mild mental retardation. Without any reason she use to hit every person on face and eye. She is now 6 years old. Now she attacks very frequently and violently that I am too much frustrated. Please help me how can I control my baby? She understands everything and expresses through gestures not in language.

Have you tried sensory therapy? My friend tells me that whenever the children misbehave they put them in a sensory room with lots of sensorial objects (such as those tentacle ridden balls made from silicone) it really helps to calm them down. A special needs classroom may also be a good idea.

From different test reports I came to know that she does not belongs to autistic group. She is with mild mental retardation & hyperactivity. She loves other people to come to her. Even she go to the unknown people most surprisingly people with dirty clothes & aged people like grandfather. She mixes with peer-group. She use to go to school but snatches other student's books, if someone disagree with her she hits her on face mostly on eye. Sometimes she hits without any reason just as it is her wish. We live in a remote area. Now my query is in my home how can I create a special needs classroom? Please tell me a list of sensorial objects to calm down her. She can read, write but can's speak. I shall be thankful to you if you help me about the above mentioned matter.
