Since June of this year 2010 I haven't been able to eat solid foods. I don't know what is wrong with me. I have been to an ENT, had an Upper GI done, a barium swallow, and an allergist. The ENT told me that I did have some redness and swelling on my larynx, which is common in patients with a form of acid reflux called LPR. But now the ENT also wants me to go do this swallow study where they hook you up to an x-ray machine and give you different types of foods to swallow. I'm so afraid to do this. I'm afraid that I'm gonna choke and die. So .... Ugh! This has been going on for so long and I am so frustrated and I just want some one to help me already. Oh and the allergist found out that I am allergic to dogs, dust mites, and cockroaches. I do have a lot of post nasal drainage she said. And she wants me to take Zyrtec. Problem with that is ... I'm afraid to swallow pills as well. I'm afraid to eat anything if there isn't someone around. I've had these choking episodes and I just don't want to go through that if there is no one home. I don't know if that can all be a result of the used couch that I bought with dog dander on it, or a result of the LPR I have, but I really want to get better. I really want to eat pizza and cheeseburgers like everyone else again. I've already lost 20 pounds because of this and I need someone to help me. Does anyone have any ideas?? Is this some sort of phobia?? I know I do have anxiety or panic attacks or something on that order. At least once a day. Has anyone ever went through something like this??
