Hello,

I’m at school at the moment, and this may sound bizzare, but I think I have ADD and I’m worried because it’s affecting my education.

Teachers are routinley telling me to concentrate in class, and I'm finding it increasingly harder to keep up with school work that I don't understand / can't remember.

Any help or advice would be usful...

Ben

  • What is your diet like, Ben? My son had food allergies when he about 12 and alot of his problem was dairy and sugar. Dairy (milk, butter, cheese) made him angry or very sad (throw fits) and sugar made him hyper (couldn't sit still in class and disruptive, annoying behaviour). Once we got him off of these chemicals- he was much better!!! They tried to label him with ADD and I refused to let them and I don't believe in giving kids drugs at a young age. Then it makes them weak and when they get older- they don't know how to do anything without chemical help!!! I'm studying to be an Acupuncture Physician and when I have alot to study-- I eat protein. This is the best thing when you have to concentrate. Sugar and caffiene will disturb the heart and the mind and makes some of us - incapable of focusing on the task at hand!!! Get some Essential Fatty Acids and Omega 3 oils and see if that helps. Also be sure to take a multi-vitamin every day. B vitamins are very useful with the nervous system and Vitamins help to make you stronger and smarter!!! My son unfortunately ate alot of bad foods for him like greasy burgers, fries, junk food. These types of foods greatly slow down the way you process food for energy and make you feel "heavy" or foggy. Now he's an adult (overweight) and he has bad stomach problems and sometimes can't go to the bathroom and other times--can't stop going to the bathroom!!! They may have to cut part of his intestines out to fix the problem and it's due completely to BAD FOODS, SODAS AND JUNK STUFF!!! I think working with a healthy diet would be your first step to feeling better. Whenever I have a big test-- I eat a banana cuz they are great (potassium) for memory and concentration!!!;) Best wishes!!

  • Hello,Thank you for your prompt responce!I have multivitamins, and omega 3 capsules, and funnily enough I eat bannanas. I also go to the gym 4 times a week. On the caffine front, I do drink coffee but not in large amounts and I havn't found it to affect my behavior as of yet...Thanks, Ben.
