I know I am menopausal, haven't had a period in over a year. I am only 46, have one ovary, guess that is why. I can take alot of stuff, but the amount and severity of my hot flashes have taken over my life. I was on prempro, the very lowest dose, but my liver enzymes went up, and my perfect blood pressure did too. So I am off. I was only on for 5-6 months. I have been off since April. I have such bad night sweats that I have to get up and change in the middle of the night, the sheets are so wet you would think someone wet the bed. During the day I pour sweat like I ran 10 miles. Than I am cold, its terrible. I have taken the soy, the black cohash, red clover all of it, none of it works. I am not over over weight, I am 5 "2" and wear a size 8 or 10. I have been trying to loose weight and after 2 months I have lost 4 pounds! I work out and think this is making it worse! I am misserable and wonder if it isn't somehthing else? any information out there would help!

Maybe you can check out my blog and see if something there works for you but here's my advice for now: (check this out, maybe some of this are still in your diet or daily regimen)•Avoid large meals and excess sugar •Hot drinks can trigger a hot flush – open a window and take your coat or scarf off first •Being over weight can be more difficult to regulate body temperature – if so, try to lose some weight •Avoid stimulants such as caffeine •Drink plenty of healthy fluids, particularly if you are sweating a lot •Avoid too much alcohol which can aggravate hot flushes, particularly wine (chianti) and cherrybrandy•Avoid Spicy foods, specially at night Diet: It should comprise of seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables, and fruits, with emphasis on vitamin E-rich foods, raw and sprouted seeds and nuts, unpasturised high-quality milk, and homemade cottage cheese. An abundance of raw, organically grown fruits and vegetables should be included in the diet. Plenty of freshly-made juices of fruits and vegetables in season should be included.Avoid processed, refined, and denatured foods. All processed, refined, and denatured foods should be completely eliminated. Hope this helps you :)
