my daughter who is perimenoposal has for the past two months battled a yeast infection which has now also started on her nipples. She has tried the regular creams, inserts, etc. and does not know what to do. Who can advise?

  • make sure she gets a mammogram and has the skin analyzed with lab work for any cancer cells...I have read of a rare "skin" thing on the breasts that is overlooked on the mammo...(not to alarm you but please have her check this out)

  • Any nipple discharge is something to look at, I agree with MonsterLove please have your daughter get checked out. OTC creams, inserts, etc are usually totally ineffective for candida overload. Antifungal meds are also not the best, and can be hepatotoxic (toxic to the liver)... Please visit www.candidasupport.org and www.wholeapproach.com for info on candida treatments. I have had issues with candida in the past, and feel these websites are very helpful. I have used Threelac in the past and recommend this product to my patients - it is safe and effective. There are other antifungal treatments - wild oregano oil, garlic, grapefruit seed oil, pau d'arco, and others. Candida takes a while to get under control - you must give yourself at least 1-2 months. How old is your daughter? candida overload can cause perimenopausal symptoms, and her symptoms might be eleviated once she has gone through a cleanse. Diet is key - cut out ALL sugars, processed foods, dairy, and add more leafy greens to the diet. The wholeapproach website listed above has a great food list you can print out as a guideline. If her symptoms are mostly vaginal, then she needs to get some plain, unsweetened yogurt and a good quality PROBIOTIC (I recommend Femmdophilus from Jarrow- you can get this online or at a healthfood store). Mix one capsule of the probiotic to about a tablespoon of plain yogurt, and insert this vaginally at night for 10 days to 2 weeks. You can get a syringe or use the applicator from one of those OTC treatments. This is messy:p, but VERY EFFECTIVE! Please have her try this. She also needs to be taking the PROBIOTIC orally to help get her flora back in balance. Balanced intestinal and vaginal flora will prevent the candida from proliferating. Speaking from experience, candida is hard to get rid of, so please be patient. A holistic practitioner, acupuncturist or naturopath can help get her back on track. Best wishesDOM

  • my daughter who is perimenoposal has for the past two months battled a yeast infection which has now also started on her nipples. She has tried the regular creams, inserts, etc. and does not know what to do. Who can advise? When I was younger I kept having yeast infection one after the other for months on end till my doctor suggested bathing daily and also using wet wipes (baby wipes) to wipe off after going to the toilet And one more was regarding when you wipe after going to the toilet : when you urinate wipe from the front going out the front and when you have a bowel you wipe from the back going out the back (reason is to keep bacteria from anus getting up front where she pees from). The totally ridded my problem back then so maybe it'll help her too.As far as the breast thing I don't know.Bye and take care.
