i know from the bottom of my heart that the blood centre has diagnosied me for syphilis during one of my blood donation drive. although they did two tests and one is on the way for confirmation, i cannot accept this cause there was no men or boys in my life nor have i had any intercourse with anyone yet. the doctors examined and told that my vagina is intact nor do i have any symptoms of a sore.

am really frustrated abt this cause it is affecting my college life and i am going through so much of trauma. pls doctors help me and tell me that it was a wrong diagnosis and what should i do now. the doctors have already put me on an antibiotic.

help....those whom i have read abt have indulged in wrong sex partners and have to pay for it but why meeeeeeee

  • go to your free county STD clinic and order the blood test for it; then you'll know...you won't need an exam if you haven't had sex but tell them you need to know. It could be possible that one of your parents had it, but it would be a congenital condition and I doubt if the blood test detects congenital syphilis...but I suppose it technically could.

  • my parents have been tested and they do not have any vdrl diseases. Now i realise that it could by Lyme disease cause just four months ago....the college i go is in the middle of trees and away from town... it is in a remote area on the first day of my registration....i suddenly developed itchiness and started scratching everywhere. my brother went and bought for me some medicine from a pharmacy and some ointment to rub. after registration, the next day too i had the same itchiness....and went to my college doctor, who also gave me the same medication and i was down with flu......my appointment with the doctors is in two weeks time and they have assured me to sent me for more blood tests and also to look to autoimmune diseases.thanks a lot and now i can tell the doctors about this lyme disease. Praise the Lord and am convinced that i do not have syphilis. Only God knows the trauma, the whole family went through and the shame i had to go through. Praising the Lord.....
