Well Today I Went To The Dr. Because I Have A Lump In My Chest And While I Was Their I Asked About The Rash.. He Told Me That I Had Shingles.. I Never Really Heard Of That Befor So He Explained To Me That It Was Chickenpox That Resurfaced .. Well I Was On Line And Started To Read Up On It And It Says That Shingles Can Be Related To Hiv... Now Im So Freaked Out.. I Just Want To Go Get Tested... I Mean What Are The Odds?? I Am Going To Get Tested Cause You Always Should.. I Just Dont Know What The Cause Of The Shingles Are???

  • I Had Shingles When I Was Seven Years Old And I Definitely Don't Have HIV. It Sounds Like You Are Over-reacting To Me. Why Do You Type Like This Anyway? Did You Never Take First Grade Penmanship?

  • Rofl, thats funny, thank you poster above me for pointing that out to eleven. Not to mention Eleven, who cares why he types like that? I would rather type like that than to be rude and not have manners! I have never heard of shingles being related to HIV. Alot of people have had shingles. All it is is a reaccurance of chickenpox.I wouldn't worry about it hun.

  • Shingles are not at all related to HIV. If you think you could be at risk for HIV by all means go and get tested. Chicken pox (varicella zoster) are the cause of shingles. The virus can lay dormant for years in your cerebral spinal fluid and for reasons unknown be released and cause shingles later in life. Shingles can be very serious as it can cause blindness if it breaks out in the face and is usually quite painful. My advice is to seek and follow the advice of your doctor.

  • hahaha, your ignorance makes me laugh And who are you? Because you certainly don't have a medical degree. I don't think you are the one who should be talking about rudeness, especially as you are immature enough to follow me to other threads. That's flaming and I could report you for that. What are you, fourteen? EDIT: I have reported you to the administrators, billyandsarah99. And from what I've read in your other posts, you are a medical ast. and therefore unqualified to be making the sort of assumptions that you've been making in response to my posts. Giving OPs incorrect information and flaming/harassment are against the rules.

Many clinics offer free HIV tests, and it's better to be safe than sorry. In my opinion, if you are sexually active and/or taking intravenous drugs, you should get fairly regular blood work done to test for HIV, hepatitis, and other infectious disease.

  • Thank you. Well to those who are not rude?? Well as for getting tested I am im sure that im over reacting but its always good to get a test done at least once a year because i may not be promiscuous does not mean that my partner is (no matter how much i would like to think so). Its hard to trust anyone this day and age..

  • A person comes to this site to try to find help for a medical condition and that IDIOT Eleven has nothing better to do than make an insensitive remark about their typing skills. How is that in any way relevant to the content or context of this site. Grow up!!! You must be age eleven. Do you go to these sites just to attack people? There is no cause for that and you should be ashamed of yourself.

You, on the other hand, are insulting my personal intelligence, not just typing skills. I did answer the OP's question, did I not? ...and YOU seem to be too scared to get registered and take credit for your own remarks.
