Hi, my name is Melissa and im 39yrs old 12 yrs ago I woke up and had some of the worse pain I have ever felt in my life, I had to urinate so bad and it hurt so bad it felt like glass or fire was coming out instead of urine. So I went to the doctor and I had a very bad bladder infection so they gave me some antibiotics and I took them all till gone like they say, well the burning did not go away it came write back and I went back to the doctor and this time I was peing blood so they gave me a shot and sent me home. my symptoms still stayed with me after I finishe the medsbut in this time I found out that the more water I drink the better my poor urethra felt, so I started drinking more and more water. Finally I ended up going to a urolagist and they dialated my urethra and said that I had alot of water in my bladder so I explained to him that If I dont keep water in my bladder I would be in alot of pain, and I went on to tell him that if i drink a couple glasses of water and wait a while until I can feel the water trinkle down to my urethra that , thats what seemed to put like presure on it or something? and it made it feel normal when I would pee, but i had to keep a steady streem of water flowing through my bladder. And the funny thing was he did not understand what I was explaining to him. How else can I say it? Anyway for a while after that each time I would go to the doctor for the symptoms thet would find a trace of blood in my urine and they would give me more antibiotics wich would not work. I have ben to 3 different urolagist and they never know what to tell me. so I stoped going for acouple of yrs unless I forgot to drink eneough water and the burning came back i would go to the emergency room and they told my every time there is no infection, but now its getting worse now my sides hurt all the time and it feels sore with the burn like its worn out or something. and for the last year now I cant even have sex with my husband because if i have a orgasm a couple days later my sides hurt when i pee ,So now I have appt with a knew doctor in a couple of months , so we will see what happens. Please if anyone els has this problem I would love to here frome you (excuse the spelling):(

  • Never had my Adrenal Glands checked, and I have had Asid reflex for the last a several yrs, I have had kidney scans, dialation of my urethra,I have taken antibiotics for months at a time, nothing helps except consuming large amounts of water, I think sometimes that it its just my urethra is to narrow but if I dont pee for a couple hours my urine is dark and cloudy like I do have an infection so Im starting to think its alot more then that.Im kinda nervus in going to another specialist, I just think he will tell me there is no infections so just drink plenty of fluids, I just cant believe that they can tansplant hearts and clone animals and can do just about anything medicly these days but they cant fix this thing that im suffering with and im sure more people are too, I'm just getting wore out from this its ben almost 13yrs and its taking ists tole but im a fighter and I wont give up maybe somene will find an solution to atleast taking the pain of it away. Thanks Missy.

  • Hi, I just wanted to let you know that, no...I don't have a solution for you, but that I have also had the same problem for 7 months now. I have had an ultrasound, many urine cultures/analysis, dialation, cystoscopy and antibiotics. I went to see another doctor today who wants to do another cystoscopy. The only relief I get is water, lots and lots of water. If I don't drink water, I have painful urination and a constant nagging charge in the urethra. I also have not pain, but discomfort in my right kidney. No matter what I do or how much I drink, I have one constant symptom that never goes away: it's a burning urethra. Sometimes I feel what I can describe as an "electrical" charge that shoots through the urethra, almost as though a nerve is burning. It's difficult to describe. So, you're not alone in your pain, discomfort and despair! I hope to keep in touch so that we can share our progress.
