I am a 36 year old female, two kids, happily married and for some reason I have started falling apart. No one can seem to tell me what is exactally wrong or they just don't have enough paper to write it all down. I had a total hysterectomy at the age of 24, was told by both of my grand mother's to not take the hormones they would cause cancer, being an obedient person I did not take them, That has been 12 years ago.. Anywho.. to get back to the problem, I then had gained up to 250 lbs and had a "RNY Gastric Bypass" in 2000 and battled anorexia and other problems during the losing weight. I now weigh 130 lbs. And am temporarily satisfied with my weight, I have battled depression, insomnia, fibromyalsia, degenerative disc disease, osteoperosis, and severe vitamin D deficency. I have pain between the bones in my neck that causes muscle pain in my neck, shoulders, and radiates down the bones in my arms to my elbows. I started going to the chriropractor a month ago and she couldn't do any adjustments due to the tightness of my muscles, So i had a message therapist work me over, she informed the chiropractor that my muscles were extremely tight that she couldnt' do much for me either. I was told to contact my doctor and get on some muscle relaxers to relax my muscles so they could help me with my problem. The doc called in some "flexeril, and percocet", I ate them like candy finding no relief at all. My muscles in my neck and shoulders were so notted up it felt like knives hanging out of my back. I missed work due to the pain, and last Tuesday went to the Emergency Room to try and get some help, They admitted me into the hospital, had me in a room hooked up to the morphine pump within 45 minutes. And a ortheopedic doctor had a MRI done on me, He said there was nothing wrong that needed any type of surgery, and said that for that night they would just keep me hooked up to the morphine and comfortable. Here I was again with no clue what the heck is wrong with me.. He did mention something about "Trigger Point Pain" boy that sure covered a wide range of problems.. Now I am home from the hospital again. Have to work tomorrow and am still in pain and don't know what to do now. I am so fed up with the pain and all the pills I just want to know what is wrong, and for someone to fix me. I look young on the outside with 80 yr old bones and muscles made of mush.. Any help is greatly appreciated..

  • Please consider acupuncture to help with your pain. Acupuncture can help relieve the muscle tightness and smooth the "stuck Qi" which is causing your pain. Plus it is amazing for anxiety and depression. To find one near you please visit www.acufinder.com and type in your zip code. Hope this helps.DOM

  • yikes! I'm so sorry to hear about your neck. Here's my 2 cents- sleep with a hot water bottle under your neck and rub TIGER BALM into your muscles in the morning the first night, second and every one after that, rub tiger balm into neck, then fall asleep on your super hot water bottle, more tiger balm through out day for a few days....your neck muscles will submit. please try to destress- it makes muscles cramp up.

  • Sorry to here about all of your pain. I also had bad pain down one arm and chiropractor found a bone spur in my neck. So went to a neurosurgeon and he performed a surgery that messed me up. (Cervical Diskectomy w/Fusion. Now my arms are so weak and painful that I have not been able to work since the surgery. Do some research on _Cervical Radiculopathy. I think it might help give you some answers.

  • Did you take vit/min supplementation after your roux-en-y? I was wondering why you suffered from osteoperosis...

  • Uh Oh Pixie, girl, you got probs!!! Use heat to relax those muscles(no longer than 20mins tho) Tiger balm is good as well as acupunture or acupressure. A sure bet is to find a good massotherapist well trained in NMT or Trigger-pt Therapy. Have you ever had whiplash in the past? Oh yeah another sugg... While showering take about ten min allowing really warm water to run over those shoulder muscles while stretching them by leaning your head to the side and then chin down. Be gentle holding sev mins in each position.
