what are these white dots?

i was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have these little white dots underneath my fingernails- particulary bad on both my middle fingernails anybody know what it is and how i can make it go away? thanks

  • There are multiple theories on the web, sorry I can't offer better advice:1) could be calcium deficiency2) could be calcium deposits3) indicate temporary damage to the nail bed (slamming finger in door at some point, for instance), that took a while to grow outI have yet to find any reason to think they are indicators of anything negative. They will grow out and go away as your nails grow. They can take a long time to appear after an injury and perhaps it wouldn't take that much of an injury (nothing we'd perceive) to cause them. Or they may actually be calcium related. I hope those point you in the right direction.
