for starters, I have hypothyroidism, B12 def, sleep apnea on cpap not grossly overweight or anything, fairly muscular. that being say i can barely make it through a week without crippling tiredness. i do have a busy life, special needs child that requires full attention, work full time, my Cpap is working well and AHI's are under control a <5. so why am I so friggin tired? am I just getting old? am 45. Even now people say i can run circles around most people and I know this to be true for the most part, but i realllly want to conquer this tiredness. ANYBODY in the same boat? have any suggestions? I've really just about had it - pmsing s horrible as well.

It is a classic symptom for hypothyroidism, B-12 deficiency, a sleep disorder, and a stressful life-style. You didn't mention if you are on any medications. Many have side effects that cause fatigue, even crippling fatigue. However, you say you can run circles around most people. How does this happen when you are so tired? Do you push yourself too hard? All the same, you should be able to live without the fatigue. Something is definitely causing this. A healthy person does not feel crippling fatigue all the time. You need more tests. Find a new doctor if the one you have isn't giving you any satisfaction. If you went to a doctor and told him all the things you have said here, he would need to do a lot of testing to have a definitive diagnosis. He would be grasping at straws to just pick one out of the air and say that was it. So go back to the doctor and tell him all you have written here.

  • thanks for answering! Perhaps I do need to see another doc. If I remember correctly, a lot of my antibodies came up positive too, so do I have more autoimmune stuff happening as well. Just feel kind of silly saying I'm tired - they all just seem to chaulk it up to me having a special needs child. frustrating. Thanks again and yes I'm on meds for that stuff and they are now normal again
