hiya, Im new on here so forgive me if i am repeating any previous posts, I have been feeling rather drained, forgetful generally depressed and rather clumsy for a good couple of months now and also getting numbness and tingling in my left hand and a sore mouth on occassions.
I went to the gp last week as my mother had mentioned i looked pale and asked for blood tests as thought maybe i had anaemia due to being vegetarian however have never had low iron through diet in 15 years of not eating meat a single pregnancy and a twin pregnancy so i believe my diet is pretty good x
anyway i had blood tests which have come back with low b12 levels think it was 118 or 183, (one of the two)
a ha ha i thoughy my mum and paternal grandfather both have pernicious anaemia (diagnosed in their 30's) im 29 by the way.
however the doctors receptionist stated that they wouldnt do anything except retest in 3 months.
is there anything i can do to get them to do something sooner ? as i cant go on with these energy levels for another 3 months and if my hb levels were ok do you think this is likely to be developing pernicious anaemia or just something i can take some vit b12 tablets for..
please help as do you think it is worth asking to see a doctor re my results
thanks in advance
sue
