Hey all, im doing a project at school and I need help identifying a disorder that my friend suffers from, whether its an actual disorder is still up in the air of course.

My friend had a rough childhood; parents always fighting, mom was a useless drunk, and basically saw things that she never needed to see. Since then she has repressed all her childhood memories and focused all her time on school, nothing else. Now I have helped her a lot, I think, but theres still things that she does that I wish I could help her with. She constantly blames everything on herself, for her parents divorce, her mothers problems, everything.

Now if anyone could help me out, I would be extremely greatfull. Please email me (bobbertooo@gmail.com) or post back on here.

  • A young girl's life is not considered a "project" and you are too young to be a psychologist. So, the best you can do is to urge her to speak with the school counselor and set up regular appointments to guide her into a more positive future. If she would rather focus on her education, that seems like an acceptable compensation. You can cause damage playing psychologist and bringing up suppressed memories. Perhaps you should talk with the counselor, too, to discuss your needs.
