Okay so heres my story...starting in September i started having headaches(keep in mind that i've never had headaches before in my life, or at least any i could remember).. so i started having headaches..i started to get frightened, thought i could take tylenol or advil to relieve the pain but that didnt work...october rolls around, im still having the headaches, they get so bad that i had my boyfriend take me to the ER at like 1am.. they completely freaked me out there... did a CT scan found nothing... gave me some benadryl and compazine bc i was nauteous. then sent me home..i thought i was fine... i wasnt.I had an MRI scheduled for the next day, went to that.. results were normal. Had numerous amounts of blood work done.. everything was normal except for one test that showd a little bit of inflammation.(but then i re did that test the next wk and it was normal) ... headaches started getting bad pains in my neck back of my head and top of my head.. so i went to the ER again at the end of October.. then thats when they did a spinal tap on me i hyperventilated and thought it was over.. they also did an MRV to see if i had a blood clot or anything bc i had mentioned that i was on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for about 4 years and i got off of the pills in october bc i thought headaches were from birth control....so now im still having the headaches and i have no idea whats goin on or what their from??? does anyone out there have any advice or useful information... im so worried about this, and im so stressed, they have me on elavil(amitryptiline) right now im taking 25 mg at bedtime and ive been on it for 2 wks now... i noticed my headaches are a tinyyyy bit more tolerable but their ALWAYS there and its so frustrating... im 24 yrs old and a neurologist i saw thinks they could be migraines tried me out on topamax took it for a day and had weird side effects so i stopeed taking it. anyone pleaseee help!!!! ive also been to chiropractors and they just want my money and i feel like it helps a little bit, but the headaches are still there!!!!! ughhhhhh this is so hard for me to deal with bc ive never had headaches before.. i really appreciate anyone that has any feedback on this.. it sucks so bad and im worried for my life:confused:

  • Hello, i had a similar problem for about 3 months last year. I am also a 24 year old woman. It turns out that I developed a sensitivity to caffiene and several other foods and drinks that cause migraines. I had ongoing migraines because every day I was drinking tea or coffee or eating chocolate. I had MRI's, CAT scans, Bloodwork, and the next stop was exploratory surgery because I was in so much pain! I talked to a new Neurologist and he told me that most migraines are a result of food sensitivities. I stopped eating and drinking all the "trigger" foods and drinks and I got better within about 3 days (which is how long a single migraine lasts for me, if I slip up and eat a piece of chocolate, I have 3 days of pain afterwords!) Ok here are the foods and drinks I stopped consuming: Chocolate, Tea, Coffee, Onions, Processed Meats (like bacon and sausage), and Alcohol. I went off all trigger foods and drinks and slowly added them back in to see which ones were migraine causing for me. It worked for me, I hope it works for you! Here is a list of other foods from the migraine site that people with migraines should avoid, because your triggers may be different than mine: http://www.webmd.com/migraines-headaches/guide/triggers-specific-foodsGood Luck and I hope you solve your problem!
