Tongue numbness

My mom for yrs. she been have numbness in her tongue but she say this only happens when sleeping and her tongue sticks to the roof of her mouth and there is dryness, numbness also. When this happens she awakes up and drinks a few sipts of water it helps, She would like to now if it is cause of a medication or what? Dr. said that there is not wrong with meds and she has all ready been to the ENT doctor as well all her test came negective. What can she do make it better. concern Daughter!!!
