I have had occur twice in the last 3 years where very suddenly the node on the left side of my Adams apple swells so bad on the inside that I have excrutiating pain when I swallow or talk. The node is also swollen on the outside and very, very sore to touch. The first time this lasted approximately 3 hours. I was in severe pain, almost fainted, was taken by ambulance to the hospital. By the time we arrived, it was subsiding. This time we were driving down the road, I was talking and it suddenly came on. I pulled over and my husband drove me to my sister's. My brother-in-law is a paramedic. He saw it was swollen, it was extremely sore to touch and I could not swallow or talk without severe pain. We put an ice pack on it. AFter 2 hours I headed home. I managed to take 2 Ibuprofen. This time the pain reflecting up to my ear and eye was very extreme and there was some tingling on the left side. After 6 hours it just disappeared and the swelling was down. It is today somewhat sore but nothing like before.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
