Hi there! I am knew to the group and wondering if anyone out there has ever had to deal with this and how did you get over it. I was 26 years old and I had (female) cancer. Instead of getting rid of it the docs tried shrinking it. They since I had kids and my husband did not it was not fair to him to just remove the cancer although there was 0 chance in ever having another child. The meds they put me on mae me go from 112lbs to 130lbs in two weeks. I told them this can't be right, wait until I get back from my honeymoon and fix the problem instead of case more. Guess what there answer to that was(no way) I then went from 130lbs to 180lbs over the next 1 month. I have gained and lost 15lbs over nd over, but the problem was taken care of by my husband who had to go into the docs himself and tell them that a wife that was healthy was better then a wife that was dead just so he could (not) have children. Now the weight is here to stay I eat right I exercise, if I even think about cheating the scale goes up a pound just to warn me not to. I drink plenty of water. The docs keep telling me o cut the calories, they had me at 600 cal a day. then cut the fat fine but how do you cut the fat from fresh uncooked veggies and salads with no dressing and carfully weighed lean meats, so they said step up the exercise ok I work 10-12 hours a day clean my house, my husband drives truck so really I'm a single parent with extra work on my plate I walk the dogs 1 hour a day sepertly, I excerise 1 hour a day plus I run stairs all the time.
Someone please help me I can't get rid of the weight. And I only wish it comes off as fast as it came on..

  • Hi thread, sorry to hear about your cancer. hope you're doing fine now. I have a similar problem - i was a skinny girl - 49kilos and after some medication i gained about 20 kilos and no matter what i do - it wont come off. i eat less than when i was thin, exercise 1-2 hrs a day, work 14 hour shifts and still no luck. spent thousands on blood tests, hormone tests, diets, fat farms even - nada. even the shape of my face has changed. if you find something that helps you please let me know too. thanks.C

It really works i had the same problem. I dropped almost 30 pounds in less than 3 weeks. The results are permenant as long as you continue to exercise afterwards and eat healthy.

  • Maybe the original poster was eating too little while trying to loose weight. Eatting too little can send body into starvation mode and hence body is trying to keep the weight on. I lost weight using its all free there and you can set up your own exercise program there, record diet and it will keep record of calories etc etc. It graphs your progress etc From that site you can find out your ideal calorie amount to loose weight based on your age and height and activity level. I strongly suggest to use this to find out more accurately what calorie amount you should be having. 600 Calories isnt good and while slow your whole system down!! that will cause your body metabolism to slow right down and make weight loss hard. Your doctors dont have a clue (they should of sent you to a nutritionist rather then trying to advise you for something they obviously know very little about). The other poster mentioned the lemonaide diet.. i assume they are refering to to the lemonaide and cayne pepper diet. I did that a couple of times for up to 10 days (one dont do that diet for long as it wouldnt be good for you)... and did loose quite a bit of weight using that diet. Its excellent if you need to fit into a special dress by next week! Of cause one then has to eat sensibly after the weight loss to not put it right back on again......... recently i started to stack the weight on for no reason at all... drinking cordial was actually making me fat!! It turns out the reason why is that I've developed Insulin resistance (so now cant have carbs).
