Hi. Lately, my stomach has been feeling too full. I'll eat a small amount of food and feel full for the rest of the day. If I eat a normal amount throughout the day despite the comfort, I feel like I've just stuffed myself at a shady buffet (bloating, gas/pressure, fullness). Also, and this is pretty gross, I've been alternating between constipation and diarrhea for about a week now. I'm a little worried.

A little background info--I used to suffer from bulimia. Could this be causing my problem? And if it is, now that I've stopped binging and purging, will the problem eventually go away?

Great for you, kiddo!! : )Now on to your current GI issues...How long has it been since you binged/purged? It's pretty normal for your upper and lower GI system to get a bit "out of whack" when things aren't consistent re: food delivery. When you say ' I''ve been alternating between constipation and diarrhea for about a week...does it alternate on a daily basis? If you aren't currently experiencing any ACUTE abdominal pain (some gas pain...and some of that "gross" flatulence here and there...is pretty normal and not a problem), don't be too concerned. Try to get back into a regular eating pattern ( not as important WHAT you eat as developing some consistency re: time of day). Now that you've stopped bingeing & purging, it's very likely that your GI problems will resolve in time. It goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway cause I'm a real pain in the.....neck!) that I highly commend you for what I am sure must be a difficult decision regarding changing to a more healthy and positive lifestyle. EXTREMELY Awesome!!All the best,John<
