Spot on top of head

I have a spot that opens up, drains and sometimes bleeds on the top of my head. I am not scratching it to cause the skin to break, it will start to hurt I will reach my hand up there and it's inflamed and there often is clear fluid draining out of it. It's about the size of a dime (not all of it is open sore) and it has some siginificant bulk to it under the surface. I have had this issue for some time and it doesn't seem to improve. I use an anti-dandruff shampoo containing selenium sulfide and I use an unscented coconut milk conditioner. I use no hair styling product, nor do I blow dry. I do have eczema and I get dry skin pretty frequently but this being so specific to the spot on the top of my head I am hesitant to just assume that it's related. Any advice before I attempt to get into to see my dermatologist. (there is typically a 3-4 month wait at my derm)
Thanks for any help on this issue

  • It could be several things, but I would get it checked out ASAP. It could be a sign that you have Lupus or it could just be dry skin, but I would not risk it. If you can get in with your PC sooner than your dermatologist, then I would do that. He/She could do blood work or biopsy. Hope this helps.
