Im 53 yrs. old, in good shape active. Had some shoulder surgery done in Sept of 2006. All went well. Started working out again in January of 2007. Within two weeks I was getting so much pain in my large joints and muscles, I had a hard time getting up from a chair, sleeping was painful to move. So I stop working out nothing got better. Had blood work done, all the test came back good. Only thing that fit the systems (PMR) Polymyalgia Rheumatica. Systems nailed it on the head. Not the blood work though. Been on Prednisone for six weeks helps a lot, but have signs on pain in joints and muscles. Dosage stared at 15, went up to 20 for 4 weeks now starting to lower by .5 a week. Still have to take 1 Ibuprofen before I go to bed so I don't have to deal with a lot of pain in morning. The joint specialist is starting to think we are on wrong track. Any ideas? Joints it affects shoulders, hips, knees. Also the large muscles around those joints. Worse in the morning and later in the night. Never had any problems with this type of pain before.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
