I am 50 years old & have had this problem for 30 years! Something about my body chemistry causes allergic reactions (sneezing/nasal congestion) in myself & others. During puberty (13 or 14) I suffered from heavy perspiration that I couldn't control. That got better in my late teens but came back when I was 20. A doctor prescribed Drysol for my underarms & that helped control the perspiration, but I developed something that I can only describe as akin to inhaling pepper or very dry air that causes me & the people around me to sneeze & become congested. This causes me much mental distress. I suffer from depression & anxiety which I think is caused by this problem, although the more depressed/anxious I feel the worse the symptons are. I also think hormones may play a part in it. I had a child at 40 & suffered from postpartum depression. I was put on antidepressants & started feeling better. I started peri-menopause 2 years ago & have felt worse than I have in a long time, both mentally & physically. I'm still taking an antidepressant but feel terrible & these strange nasal reactions are worse than ever. I've seen doctors/psychologists/psychiatrists over the years & can't get any relief. Can anyone shed some light on this?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
