Does anyone have any suggestions. My sister is a beautiful young lady. She is very outgoing. Since Sept. she has went from 138 lbs. to 108 lbs. She wants to eat but her stomach cramps to much. She has been to a gastrologist and had a colonoscopy and an upper GI. She has had numerous blood test and Xrays. She went to a heart doctor cause her heart rate is 40 and her blood pressure is 80/60. She has a heavy chest, shortness of breath, fatigue, lower back pain, and severe lower abdominal pain and just plain feels like CRAP all the time. She had to move back from college because she just feels terrible all the time. It is so hard for her to do much of anything. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I just want her to be herself again. She is to young to be feeling this way. Please help. Her sister.

  • You may want to send her to a good alternative doc who should look at things differently and perhaps find the real cause of the probelms. You can search some sites on alt. med. for Naturopathic docs, Docs of Oriental Medicine and more. If you would like to post your general location I may be able to refer you to alt docs in your area.

I read that many gastric problems start by general dehydration of the patient. In other words, if she is not drinking like 2 1/2 quarts of water a day, her body does not have enough water to produce saliva, digestive fluids, and can't regulate the digestive valves (they get dry). The stomach produces one glass of fluids every hour to run its functions- so your sister needs to at least drink one glass of water every hour. Please, make sure she is not drinking milk or juice. She needs water- 2 1/2 quarts for every 24 hours. The website of the book is watercure.comTake Care!

  • One more thing, make sure that her kidney function is normal before she increases the water intake. She has to pee proportionally to what she drinks. If she drinks and does not pee the first time, it is probably that her digestive organs are dry. You can see signs of dehydration on dry skin, oily skin with blackheads, not enough saliva while eating, thick saliva, etc. Make sure to tell her to chew all her food until it becomes liquid. It is is hard for her, it also means she needs more water.I hope this works.Best.

  • How are her periods? Are they heavy? Irregular? Has she had a lower abdominal ultrasound? I agree with Ralph to try alternative approaches. I am a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and know that acupuncture is extremely helpful for all kinds of disorders: GI, gynecological, upper respiratory, and much more. To find an acupuncturist near you please log on to www.acufinder.com and type in your zip code. There are several to choose from in the Wichita area. Ask the practitioner if they are nationally certified in Chinese Herbology as well as acupuncture. Hope this helps!DOM
