:(im only 25 and for about the last 5years ive been sick and dont know why or what i have... first ill start out with my symptoms... i suffer from severe migraines, that ive had for about 10years or well thats when they were diagnosed, and up and around the same time i started to develop pain in my joints, mostly my wrists and fingers as well as my kness ankles and feet. i have back pain but that may be related to my scoliosis and sciatica... anyways i would say that about 5 years ago i started to develop numbness, in my legs and hands... i seem to be almost clumbsy... i constantly drop things or fall... and as of late in the last year ive started to have numbness in my neck shoulders and face (mostly the right side). ive also noticed and issue with my right ear(i seem to have what feels like when your ears pop on an airplaine and sometimes like a humming)im constantly dizzy and nauseous for no reason. ive seen neurologist, had MRIs, i had an EMG (omg that is painful!!!) ive had all sorts of blood work and nothing has really resulted... im sick of seeing doctors that cant diagnose, and tired of paying insurance bills... monday im due at the neurologist again and next month im going to a rheumatologist... so if any1 has any suggestions as to what i could b id really appreciate any insight.... i saw a tv show where a lady had similar symptoms and it turned out to be a schwannoma (im gonna ask the neurologist) please help anyone :(

  • check the vitamin B12 thread. Have you had your levels accurately checked?Yes, I completely agree with this. B12 deficiency is underdiagnosed, and can cause irreversible neurological damage and mimics MS. Get copies of your blood work and if the levels are below 500 (still considered "normal"), then I'd ask for methylcobalamin B12 shots. I would also get tested for Lymes by Bowen or Igenex labs. My last thought is to consider trying acupuncture - it really works. Best wishesDOM

  • thanx, i did have a lymes test and that came out negative... but i will definitely have them check the b12... they've said it could be fibromyalgia but like i told the doctor, that seems like a cop out diagnosis for a doctor that doesnt care to know whats really wrong with me... im hoping something comes of it soon... im also gonna have them check for meneires ive been reading about it and my symptoms seem to be similar... as for ms ive had various test and most have come back inconclusive so i suppose that means its still possible but i hope not... thats a scary thought

  • Hi pinksmokeclouds, Have a look at post #2679 on p268 of the B12 thread - that lists all the known symptoms (and there are many, including most of those you describe) of B12 deficiency. If you do have this condition, it is most important that it's treated and the good news is that with the proper treatment full recovery is possible. You could also read backwards from the most recent posts for an hour or so to get a feel for what symptoms and problems other people are describing and what results they are getting. If you would like to post your symptoms on the thread there are friendly and helpful people who will suggest what you can do next. I speak as someone who had undiagnosed B12 deficiency for many years - I am now 53 - and I very much wish I had known in my 20s that a simple regime of supplementation would have helped. all the best, jan
