Hi everyone,

Just desperately hoping for some answers, my partner has been in hospital for about a week now with sever pains to her lower abdomen, lower back and now her legs but mainly her left leg.
she is 8 weeks pregnant and has been vomiting severly for quite some time, she doesn't feel that it is pregnancy related but the doctors won't listen.
after a few weeks of vomiting and lower abdominal pain she noticed small amounts of blood in her vomit, so we went to the ER.
The surgeon kept insisting it was pregnancy related even though she was in the same hospital with the same symptoms 4 months earlier.
after days of negative tests including multiple blood tests, urine samples, ultrasounds and an MRI, a sharp pain started going down her legs, mainly the left leg.
The surgeon said it was impossible and instead of putting her on to the medical team like he said he would he has sent a physcologist, the physcologist told me she was mentally fine and she would continue to review.
now they sent her to another hospital that specialises in pregnancies and they said everything was fine.
after being transferred back again, they just want to discharge her even though the pain is still too severe for her to walk.
if anyone has any ideas, i would be forever thankfull as this is the second time she's been hospitilised with no diagnosis and i dont see it being likely to improve in the later stages of pregnancy.
Thankyou
Nathan

  • According to Wrongdiagnosis symptom checker using abdominal pain, back pain, leg pain and vomiting leads to 4 possibilities. See partway down the page under results http://symptoms.wrongdiagnosis.com/cosymptoms/abdominal-pain/back-pain/leg-pain/vomiting.htm

My experience in the healthcare field has shown me that sometimes the stipulations in a policy can dictate the way some hospitals and doctors diagnose and treat a patient. Due to the fact most people have only have basic coverage they rarely extend themselves to go beyond what can be billed to the insurance providers. Either way I hope the situation works out to the best.
